Lets talk about goats!

Trying to get myself ready to give Ford his shot tomorrow. I know if I'm going to have animals I need to figure it out but Im still nervous!

Don't be! Half the time they don't feel it. My vet told me if you give it to them in the loose part of the skin behind the elbow, most times they don't feel it. Most of mine I can vaccinate by myself without tieing them now. Just don't hesitate and go super slow but don't just hurry and stab. You'll do fine.

Thanks! I don't even know if its possible but Ford is already acting more like a goat instead of a depressed turtle lol. He hasn't even made noise lately. A week or two ago I mentioned how he didnt run around or play. I can see him bugging his brother in the pen right now. Thats new! Oh and when she castrated him she did something wrong and theres tissue still there that shouldn't be but vet said it should be okay.

I did it. Definitely not my cup of tea. I picked up calf manna for him. Also found out my local feed mill grinds and makes their own goat feed. She is finding out what all goes into it but im guessing it's something like you guys mix up. Once I find out I can add anything I need to it.

I was wondering, Should I dehorn and neuter my goat? I Don't want him to be nasty. I'm picking them up tomorrow, I am getting a 5 day old female, and a 3 month old male.

Thanks!

                                                                                                  Thanks!

Disbudding or dehorning varies from person to person, some do some don't.

Unless you're breeding them-yes, get them castrated. Bucks are gross.
