Lets talk about goats!

Don't worry I have 3 Nigeran dwarfs (2 does 1 wether) and a Pygmy buck they did perfectly fine last winter the Nigerians just turned 1 in July, all I did Is made sure I had the house packed with hay, but I might have to put a light this winter but I might not depends on the weather, my two does are due in November, but if you do think they need extra warmth for any reason try a goat sweater all u do I get an old sweater and cut the arms off some and tada a goat sweater, most people do this for kids born late in the year.

Putting a sweater on actually does the opposite. It flattens the hair which doesn't allow it to do is normal insulation thing.

You could do that and it would look adorable, but you have to be aware that the kids might react poorly to it and the sweaters might get caught on something such as a wire fence. One thing that you should never do is put heaters in the barn, as if they fall, the straw will catch fire and burn. piling up on straw and hay def helps with warmth. So does other goats.

Unless it is dry and he is straining, I wouldn't worry about it. Dry poop can be a symptom of a fever and maybe deydration, but if his temp is normal and he seems to be otherwise OK he is probably OK.

My 3 1/2 month old pygmy / nigerian cross seems to be having a hard time pooping. His poo seems to be more of a cluster than little balls as they were. Any advice?

Why do you think he's having a hard time pooping? Because of the shape/consistency or something else you've observed?

I want meat goats...........at least I think I do. Any thoughts/suggestions/helpful hints?
There is no way I could eat my goats.

I'm sure they will die of old age.
