Me toI would think that this time around yes, maybe that bird was the one that ate the mouse. I am very interested if it will keep coming back and get close like it did.
Not last summer, but the summer before and the one before that...i used to smoke and id sit on our front stoop because we didnt smoke in the house. One day a hummingbird flew up to my face, like right in my face - so close i couldnt hardly tell what it was because i went cross eyed. The first summer i told my MIL about it (we shared a property) and she was really jealous. She tried putting feeders out over the years but they never did come. I was scared of it and was kinda nervous hed come back. He didnt the whole rest of that summer. But the next summer, just one day same exact thing. Like right in my face, for several moments. Felt like forever! MIL was jealous again lol. She passed away before the last summer and he never came back. She wanted to see him so badly.
Your story made me think of him.
Anyways. Birds can be weird!
It is a Northern Harrier. Maybe I should name it?![]()
Last year quite a few times, possibly 20 or more, but he was always in the field when I spotted him. This year I have seen him only two times, the first time this year was when he was flying almost directly over me holding a piece of meat, and the second time was today when he was by the slide window.Oh wow it’s a beautiful bird. Hmm you should officially name it when you see it again. How many times did you see it in the past?

It's weird though, wild animals hate me. The wild turkeys, for example, are okay with my siblings getting really close to them. I walk up to them at snail speed and the distance 30 feet and they run/fly away from me screaming. In fact one day, they where lounging by the road up the hill and I just waved at them and they screamed, running as fast as they could on their fat legs, smashing into trees just to get away from me.Oh so he’s comfortable with you. I would think anyway (I’m no wild bird expert). Well if it migrates it makes sense that you have started to see it as spring arrived.
