Let's Talk About This Weird Bird

It's weird though, wild animals hate me. The wild turkeys, for example, are okay with my siblings getting really close to them. I walk up to them at snail speed and the distance 30 feet and they run/fly away from me screaming. In fact one day, they where lounging by the road up the hill and I just waved at them and they screamed, running as fast as they could on their fat legs, smashing into trees just to get away from me. 🤣

Birds are different. I’ve heard stories of crows liking a certain individual and bringing gifts. So maybe they just take a liking to someone and visit them as long as they’re alive. I hope my husband’s brown thrasher never becomes prey to another animal, I’ve grown accustomed to hearing stories every once in a while of how it roosts here or there or moved it’s nest to a different part of the shop and all sorts of nice stories.

With that I must go to bed since I am also on the east coast and it’s getting late. I am logged on in my phone so I wonder if it will still show me online when I close it out. 🤔 Have a good night! Hopefully you’ll be able to find out if it’s a boy or girl. It was only easy for us since it had a nest with babies 😂

It is a boy, it has a bit of grey, males have grey. I also need to go to bed, it's 5 minutes before midnight. I am sleep deprived! :lau
Little side note- The crows are not nice where I live, they are demons incarnate!

This thread got lost in the million that I have. Have you seen the bird since?

My husband let me know his bird has a friend in there now. Not sure if it’s a boyfriend or just another random bird of the same breed/kind (brown thrasher). I kinda wanna go out to the shop and see if they’re there unless they’re out seeing it’s morning and they go get food like normal birds.

I have not seen the bird since, but I haven't been out of the house recently, 16 inches of snow sidently came crashing down two days ago.
Also maybe the other bird is her friend, she could of went up to her a said, "I hear that where you live is unsafe, you can live at my place." and the other bird is like, "Okay, I'll go over." :lau

Imagine!! My husband’s shop may turn into a brown thrasher aviary before this is all over.

And yeah snow would keep me indoors too. I live in the south where I get zero snow but when it gets to 30s and 40s I’m fine in my cozy living room.

Saw the bird again and got a really good look! He has black tips on his feathers and a grey back. He was flying really close to the ground of my backyard. What the heck was he doing, I dunno. But he just flew straight down, looked at me for a split second, and jolted in a perfect curve over some trees. I am going to name him now, I think that he is my buddy. What to name him...
Hopefully he doesn't think that we are more than just friends... I mean I have blond hair... The females are brown.

He definitely looked like this handsome little boy. Just way more whiter.

Northern Harrier - eBird

Ok... I read a myth about Northern Harriers, if a Northern Harrier is perched on your roof it is an omen that three people will die... :hit What about one following you?

I wouldn’t look too much into myths. It’s fun to read em but omens meh.

But it is really neat that you saw him again! Try to take a picture next time. As far as naming him... I’m horrible with picking names. But I’m interested in what name you’ll give him.
