Good lookin' boys you got there too bad no girls

Are any of those boys showing any "Golden" ? Do they at least have feathered shanks? I am disappointed for you. I will have to get you some more eggs this spring and hatch you some pullets!

My Whites only gave me two chicks and it looks like they are both pullets any other time this would be great but now I have to hunt up a roo.

Can you make splits with the whites? Don't you have solid blacks? That's what we do with the ameraucanas anyway. Black actually improves the whites, from what I hear. Well- black improves everything, doesn't it?!

I have 3 solid blacks ..... but all are pullets

I am test mating them to see if any copper shows up we will see.
I need to cull down my birds again too but at this time of year no one wants new birds so will probably have to feed them all till spring and of course hardly any eggs right now! I have 10 Exchequer Leghorns and 6 Splash Marans in the bator for the New Years Hatch and then 14 Splash from Charm1704 also. I ended up with 6 Birchens 3 boys and 3 girls

. So at least by spring I will have some things to work on.

Thought I would share some pics of my golds & gold duckwings growing out. I ended up with two double dose barred boys that are going to be gorgeous, both are French.

(one not pictured) Have several single dose barred, two French & two English. One of the French is already expressing gold on his neck and back.

I only ended up with one barred pullet and one black that from the pic looks like she might end up black copper??

I was sooo hoping one of my gold duckwing was a boy but I think I ended up with four girls. Would you know when you really wanted a boy you don't get one!!

The older duckwing pullet growing out, she is going to be a massive girl.

Hoping that all of the girls lay as nice and dark eggs as they were hatched from.

Nice!!! Boy does that last girl look like a feather-legged wellie, or what? Or a partridge cochin even. Love that pattern.

Here she is:

WTH? She was supposed to be GC, AND a roo. I ened up with 2 like her, but sold one. I just have to know what kind of eggs she'll lay.

I think its more like partridge because of the lacing.
