i am also looking for good Cuckoo hatching eggs... i would like to have some to take to the acceptance meet in Shawnee OK in the fall of 2013... we will have to have 50+ birds and i am only about 4 hours away so i am planing on showing some there... i would also like to use them as an out-cross for my blacks... so I'm looking for good colored Cuckoo's that at least have a chance of meeting the SOP...

thanks Elias

I have 14 Golden cuckoo marans eggs in the bator! Lockdown is in 2 days for some of them. I also plan on doing a Black copper marans x cuckoo marans cross to build some of my own Golden's. This cross will just be a fun project. Do any of you cuckoo marans breeders have any suggestions for me on this project? I would appreciate any help! Thanks!!

Hi

I did the cross a couple of times and got the gold in the male but not the female. I passed the project onto someone else and they kept crossing until they got good egg color and color in the females hackles. The hard part is getting the gold in the hackles of the females when using a black copper. Don't give up, it will be worth it in the end.

I am going to try to move my Cuckoo Roo (with feathered legs) to my Cuckoo pen in a few days. I can't wait to start hatching from him. He is MASSIVE and some of the pullets I have are chunkers too. Everyone has feathered legs and so far NO GOLD

I also have some Cuckoos growing out from a couple of other breeders and feeling pretty good about them too. I have been hatching some Blues and Blue Cuckoos from my birds over the fall I need to take a look and start culling, I know most of them don't have feathered legs.
