Her legs are not yellow and she has white ears. She is really heavy too. Probably 8-9 pounds.

She could be a cross of some sort but I would lean to a white rock myself. I had some Wyandottes that laid a nice dark egg like that too so it can happen in other breeds too. Here are some detailed picts. She has the same leg color and comb style as my Barred Rocks. Could she be a White Rock? Her eggs are larger and darker than my Barred Rock eggs though. Notice in the first photo that she is more cream than white. And there are slight cream/white barring marks in the feathers on her back.
Full face view:
View of her legs. Same color as the Barred Rocks.
Medium Brown (4) egg. Jumbo size. The other eggs are from the Brown Leghorns.
The other Barred Rock eggs got eaten this morning. But they were more pink than brown.

She looks like a pullet to me.
Here is my 9 weeks old cuckoo Maran from McMurray, she is funny, she appears to be thinking all the time and is somewhat cautious too (no overly friendly)her name is obviously "cuckoo". Jeje![]()
But I still don't know if is a roo or a pullet, any suggestions?. I think she or he looks pretty good in this picture![]()

Thank you for the feedback! I'm sure they're a mix of something... I'm watching the eyes for changes as they age, and the legs as they free range with us. They definitely have white skin though...Hi![]()
They might be mixed breed. I can see the white legs and pale beaks however,
unfortunately no Marans variety has blue eyes.
Best Regards,
Karen
