Let's talk Cuckoo and WHITE marans... breeding strategies...

Been following this posting and I love the pictures , Medicine Man ? is that a orange tree ? the picture is beautiful ! I have a question though , I have seen quite a few pictures here that are what is being called a Golden Cuckoo Maran and I have been noticeing that I have one Rooster that has a lot of gold along his neck , wing feathers and other parts of his body ................and he's HUGE ! I also have a couple of hens that have that gold around there necks as well .Now If these are what you call Golden , then I want to seperate them and see what there eggs will give ? Would these be considered Golden ? or is it just a gene that is showing itself ? they are clean legged and I had thought of breeding the hens with my Copper Black Maran and see if I couldn't somehow get the feathering on the leg's ? Totally new to all this so please bear with me and my questions

I have to learn how to do that yet ( post pictures ) ,but you're right , this is the place to learn all about what ever you want , love the site .I'll see if I can figure out how to post pictures and then someone maybe can tell me if my Cuckoo Maran's have that gene ? or who knows maybe I might have a few Golden ???

look up at the bar and put uploads.. it will give you the prompts... to get the pix into your upload file then you copy and past the url's in the reply box... It works easiest if you have two windows open at once... make sure to space after pasting...

I have a few pictures of my whites. this first one if a pure white...skin, legs,and feathers this is from a white x white

The second is a single bar from cuckoo over white hens, you can see some barring in her feathers.

I have 7 Cuckoo Marans eggs in lockdown that are due to hatch. I swapped another BYCer for some of my BCM eggs. I can't wait till they hatch.
