No Bad my friend I see you have some 4 there that is a good start. you have a type. feathered legs, plumage color, So you can focus on the eggs color now. you will get there . I have faith on you and your stock. keep doing what you what you know.
Keep breeding them to the Black copper few time and you will be amized with a result.
all the best

I'll be setting my first hatch using morbius' males this Saturday. Unfortunately, one of my hens was out of commission this week with a prolapsed vent. She has recovered and is on calcium supplements, so I'm hoping she starts laying again next week.
Now that my Lav Ams are laying too, I'll finally be able to send some eggs out to you morbius! ;)

I'm going to be setting some more f1s to try to get more pullets and f2s tomorrow night. Just had a hatch finish today and bleached everything good. Letting it dry, then hopefully some f2s.

Todays hatch; 4 f1 GCMs, 4 f1 olive eggers and 2 GCM orpington crosses ( I really like these hens for some reason).

I had bought some splash marans hatching eggs off ebay, and had terrible luck, those that hatched were all mine that I threw in with the splashes. I got 13, 7 were infertile or didn't develop at all, 3 made it part of the way and died. The last 3 died a few days before hatching. The membranes seemed to separate from the shells. I had about 75 percent or so of mine make it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I look forward to the show's pictures.

Setting a new batch of F1 Golden Cuckoo Marans, F2 Golden Cuckoo Marans, F3 Black Copper olive egger (got rid of the rooster, so no more of these), some F2 Golden Cuckoo marans over buff orpingtons and a few Golden Cuckoo marans over a blue copper marans (super dark eggs and should end up with blue and black barred).
