hi my broody hen and her chicks are now 2 weeks old, i would like to let them out in the run with the others but kept separate for protection, i am worried about crows and buzzard would they take a young chick and eat it, i have a run without wire on top, only electric fence around them. mum chicken will not let me pick the babies up so i can't move them manually to put them in the enclosed run, she is a good mum and has already drew blood on my legs and arms from trying to pick them up and put them outside. not sure what to do.

mum and chicks out by the door opening, not out in the run with the girls yet, but the girls are watching them, very worried as the brown warrens have already taken and killed one when it was a few days old. they all live in the house together but the mum and babies have a coop around them.

i have added the photo of the run so you can see my problem with letting the chicks out, i have a electric fence and i am worried the chicks will try to get out through the holes. also will the crows try to take them.

Crows won't get them...Momma won't let it happen. I raise many in my Flock and only have a mesh fence to hold my Birds into my free range area. Plus my Cat. All babies survive.

what about the warrens they have killed one of the babies when it was a few days old, they pulled it under the wire in the coop. also will my cockerel harm them.

That's different...If Momma is out and can defend them they are safe. My Rooster loves Chicks, tidbits and babysits too..
