Letting eggs 'rest'

So has anybody done any work on whether or not it's possible to sync eggs up artificially using the warm-and-go method ChickenLegs13 suggested? By warming them for about an hour a day for a couple of days leading up to a singular brood-beginning?

A little disclaimer here: I have little experience with incubators but have plenty with grumpy old broody hens.

I think syncing a clutch of eggs manually would be a huge hassle and not worth the effort. But it would be an interesting experiment!
I think a more practical alternative for Sterkfarms would be to let the eggs accumulate naturally in the nest box for a week or so until he has the desired number for a clutch or incubator load, instead of putting 2 new eggs in the incubator each day.
But maybe he enjoys the excitement of hatching 2 new cute little fuzzybutts every day whereas I dread broody hens & bittys because of all the extra care & special treatment I have to provide for 2-3 months.

Why get complicated when you can go simple? I normally gather all the eggs I want to hatch, store them in my egg turner, and start them when I get enough. For a broody that may be two days. For an incubator it may be a week. I occasionally get a hatch that lasts maybe 2 days but most of my hatches are over in less than 18 hours from the first to hatch to the last even if some of the eggs have been stored a week longer than some others.

With my results, I see no reason for me to try to synchronize hatching beyond starting them all at the same time.
