Now that my chickens are laying, and yes, they are tasty, would it be OK to leave a dozen eggs in the coop for hatching (if I have a girl that will sit). I don't want to get into all the hatching gear, I just want to show the Grandkids the process. What are the thoughts of the veterans out there?

If you have a rooster,go ahead. That is how I do it. My grandchildren love the little chicks,in fact they will be here next weekend as I have eggs due to hatch this Wed.
