Lewiston Maine Poultry Swaps

Lewiston Swap is coming up. May 11 from 9-2. I hope the weather cooperates. If it is raining and not expected to clear in the morning we will have on Sunday. Make plans to be there, I will be there loaded down with all kinds of things. If you are planning on coming as a seller please try and list what you will be bringing so people can be looking for what they want to buy. If you are looking for something in particular post what you are looking for and maybe someone will bring it for you. Don't forget, you don't have to bring chickens, or farm animals, it can be garden equipement or barn equipment or soaps, or yarns, anythiing for a farm or homestead. I don't know about anyone else but, if you have used magazines like Mother Earth, CountrySide, Grit, or anyother homestead type magazines I'd sure be interested.

You can check out the swap on the Facebook page there is alot more information there. Lewiston Chicken Swap

I am not a Facebooker and would like to not be. Could information be shared here as well? I would like to attend the Lewiston swaps. The 11 is out for me because my son has a special robotics meet. I didn't see anyone organizing for Brunswick. What's the word there?

Re: Brunswick TSC swaps. The only one who has ever organized swaps there was a woman from Sabattus who used to sell mini donkeys & goats. I don't know what happened to her but she has seemingly dropped off the face off the earth. A local large animal vet suggested she might have been a "gypsy" breeder because she knowingly sold goats carrying CAE and did not disclose this to buyers and now she cannot be located. If she turns up at any Maine swaps BEWARE!

Thank you for the FYI. I wonder how difficult it is to set up swaps. Brunswick would be a great spot for me, esp since Augusta and Lewiston seem to be under my radar.

A Brunswick swap could be very successful with enough advanced advertisement. I would definitely partake. I think there are many fellow chicken enthusiasts in the Midcoast area that would as well.

Ooooh. That is so nice to hear. Maybe I should take a chance on it... maybe. Could someone pm me how to do this?

It is not difficult to get a swap going. Contact the event coordinator at the store. Get some advertising out there and talk it up.

Yes it is fine to post about the lewiston swap on this page. I just use the Facebook page because it reaches more people, not all are on BYC.

Hi all i was looking to see how much interest there would be with a brunswick swap. I have taken over the lewiston one and would like to look at setting up a brunswick one as alot of people where talking about it at this swap. I am willing to go to the store and set something up but want to make sure there would be enough people out there that would be interested. Thanks
