Hello!! We are taking orders now for our LF Brahmas in non US standard colors, Marsh Daisy, and Lemon Penciled Friesan. These are our featured breeds for 2013!! Spring 2013 we will have the following Brahma colors available. Lemon Pyle, Balck & Turquoise, Silver Penciled, Silver Laced, Cukoo, Lavender Partridge, Blue Laced, Lavender Splash, White Columbian, and Isabelle. Our line is Brahmarama (blood lines) and is one of the foremost brahma breeders in the UK. Our birds are not crossed with any other line and are huge in size and beautiful. Our Marsh Daisy are the Wheaton color and excellent standard of type. Our Friesans are the lemon penciled color and are absolutely beautiful. We are hatching out chicks now! Prices vary slightly per color but in general day old chicks are $250 per chick and a lot of (6) eggs runs $400 for the Brahma. The Marsh Daisy and Lemon Penciled Friesan will be sold in lots of (6) eggs ($500.00) and will be on a limited availability. Chicks ($399.00 per chick) will be limited as well. Shipping costs paid by buyer and are an additional charge. Started birds will not be available until at least late Spring or Summer. "The Marsh Daisy is one of the worlds rarest chickens. They are considered endangered.
With its distinctive rose comb, willow green legs, upright stance and striking colouring, the Marsh Daisy is certainly a breed worth preserving. The Marsh Daisy is a very gentle breed, with even the males showing little or no aggression.
They are particularly happy in free range conditions, they do not mind the rain and are good flyers. They lay reasonable numbers of tinted eggs, laying well into the winter months. The chicks mature slowly.
Marsh Daisies were rescued from the brink of extinction. They are still very rare which has led to some problems due to inbreeding and it is challenging to breed birds that meet the breed standard." -Information courtesy of Marsh Daisy Club of UK-
The Friesan Chicken is a Dutch Breed of fowl that is said to originated in the Friesan Islands over a thousand years ago. They have only made there way to the continents in the last 20 years. The Friesan are a small breed of chicken however lay over 230 eggs per year. They do not require a lot of food which makes them economical birds.
Both our Marsh Daisys and Friesans are from unrelated stock and have taken us a long time to get them together. These birds meet the standard of perfection for their respective breeds and are our lines. They are beautiful and would absolutely be a collectors treasure.
