yup they are not a cheap hobby, thats for sure..

run area will be 7'L x 4'w x 3'H will be covered with ondura sheeting
Lil house attached 30" x 30" with sand tray inside, ramp will be add for them to walk up and in..
will also have a sand tray and some potted pine type plants in run area..

will post more when complete and with birds in..

yeah i will be saving $600 for a pair but first i need a good 300 for my 28x15' aviary pen.

@ wilds. do you use any 4x4's in your pens

Yes in my flight pens i used 4x4's and 6x6's, some of the small breeder pen's/hutch types Ive use 4x4 for legs, some have 2x4's, just depends on what i have handy at the time of building and what i can buy on sale or with a discount..

I Get alot of Recycled wood also from my brother in law who tears down old decks and what have you and he rebuilds them, so if he gets anything worth while he always calls me and ask do you want it.. sort of like to recycle if i can...pens are not real pretty, but my birds are safe and seem very happy in them..

we are also planing to build 2 10x14 indoor heated aviary's in our extra 2 rooms in the downstairs/garage area starting in Oct. Mearns quail will be housed in these aviary's..should be a pretty neat set up if it all goes right..

what size wire do you use 1/4" or 1/2". i use 1/4" but now i see its not really big enough
