LG still air incubator

If you live where the weather is generally humid, use less water. If you live where it is more of a dry climate, keep a closer eye on it. Too high of humidity and your chicks will drown in the egg when they get time to hatch. Too little and the membrane will dry out, sort of shrink around the chick and stick to it and it will not be able to pip or possibly hatch and it will die too. How many eggs are you incubating? If one chick is worth more than ten dollars, or two, then getting a hygrometer is worth it. Try shopping online and get it delivered if you can't get out to go get it.

Here's one at walmart

just put it on top of the eggs, and in a still air, the temp should be 101 or so, and you can read up on other threads about how to do the humidity.

Here it is.

If you are going to bother doing this, may as well do the very best you can. Good luck!

well i have an LG and have 29 eggs in and on day 15 and i have been keeping the center ring with about 600 mls of water a day ( i use a turkey deep fryer needle full of water) it has kept the humdity at 30%, and have alto turner/ fan setup in mine. on morning of day 18 i will take out alto turner and fill all the trays up put lid on and it will bring the humdity up to 50-55% for the hatch. i got my humidty gauge at wal-mart for six$. good luck keep us posted william
