We have some decisions to make by Friday. Both incubators will be filled to capacity. We have auction eggs and we have barnyard "control" eggs. We also have Quail eggs.
for the purpose of your project.
we have hatched the barnyard eggs twice so far in the LG with good results this spring. I am using them for the "control group" against the shipped eggs. I have ~12 of these eggs, we can split them up.
I have ~10 Marans shipped eggs we can split into the two incubators.
We have 48 quail eggs, we can split some of those into the two groups, I think I have the proper trays.
couple bantam barred rock eggs?
so about 10+ LF chicken "test" eggs in each group, 20+ Coturnix Quail eggs and 4 bantam eggs. ~34 eggs in each test group.
and with your guineas this will be a good test.
now for lockdown, we may need to add a hatcher into the mix, but will place equal #s of eggs from each group into it.
This is the setup I've been running all this year:
Hovabator 2362N (forced air) and LG still air, both with turners. Hatcher is a LG still air without a turner. I'll keep track of hatch percentages from now on and you can add them to your data if you wish.
