Well, I did keep it together enough to always have a hand on the rope! Even during the "free fall" section - there was about 100ft where there was no wall to rappel down. 😅

There's a free fall section?!- I'm out

Its been a weird day lol
So for a while Ive had rats getting into my pen, havent seen any in a while but still finding droppings here and there so theyre still coming in at night. I'm in phase poison to get numbers down further, while figuring out how to make my pen more secure.... thats proving hard but thats another story

There was a blood bath In the pen this morning
I assume two rats had a very big fall out? Not sure. Noticed blood drops on the floor before I let the ducks out. An entire trail all around. Then saw smeared blood around the back of the coop. Then I realise there is literally blood dripping from my chair, the mesh, their toys. It's a whole murder scene and it was fresh. Dripping
I think a fatal amount, but it could have been from two wounded rats so who knows.

Dougie came out, and began trying to EAT the blood. Insane bird. Guess it makes sense considering she ate a mouse recently.
Searched under the coop, no signs of anything bigger getting in, nothing dead.
Mind blown.

Looked nasty. In the unlikely case the critters are alive still, I put my live trap out, if I catch the wounded rodents I can at least put them out of their misery.
Would rats go after eachother like that?

On a less grim note, I had fish n chips for lunch! Haven't had that in... years. Restaurant quality too!

They absolutely would. We often have mice that go after each other I the barn when they're trapped somewhere or food starts getting scarce.
