Not sure, to be honest. I watered my new lithops because it got VERY wrinkly, very fast. It hasn't swelled up again. Usually when I water, it seems to swell up overnight
Maybe mine just need time to heal from shipping and planting? Being in a box for 6 days caused some dormancy? Yesterday morning they had wrinkled quite a bit over night but today not so much, they don't look worse. So maybe they are starting to take in water. I hope I can keep these babies alive!

Don't worry too much. Even if they're not ready to absorb water yet, they can handle it :hugs

Thanks Fluffy! :hugs I worry over my babies and thats just how it is! :D I did some reading on line that sometimes it can take a couple of weeks to get newly shipped and planted Lithops to absorb the necessary water needed. I think it said to water thoroughly once a week until they are hydrated. The white one in the middle looks a bit better today, all of them have shrunk down in the pot but they aren't shriveling more now, so thats good. But I think you are right, they can handle it. But I will worry until they are done being thirsty! :p

I'm honestly not sure what happened but we lost most the chicks that the hens hatched out. I've been keeping them locked up in the brooder coop due to seeing a hawk recently and they're now down to 1 chick.
The chicks were just dropping dead over the past few days.
I've been changing their water everyday and refilling the feeder with the flock raiser crumbles.
The bedding has been changed twice a day.

I'm sorry for your losses:(

Bonnie is a new bunny!
The spay really did change everything

She was previously quite naughty, she'd nip, scratch violently... I tolerated this because I knew she was just territorial and she had a really bad start in life, I rescued her when she was 10 months old from a horrible neglectful situation.

But she had started to jump at my legs when I stepped into her pen, and try to bite me. Nothing more frightening than a rabbit understanding what clothes are and attempting to bite under them.

So spay, and now she's a darling... she doesn't charge me, growl or nip or scratch. She's still her happy sassy bubbly self, binkies and zoomies. But now if you approach her, she'll just sit there happily and let you pet her or pick her up.

I'm not certain we took the right rabbit home from the vets
I do believe in spay/neuter ops for a lot of animals, for health reasons primarily. But this has certainly had a desirable outcome for her, and us! She's not so stressed out about defending her territory, she's calm and enjoying life the way she ought to be able to.
