A lot of it just sounded forced, like 'oh, these kids are way more mature than your average child, so they must use adult vocabulary! They must show how much more mature they are bu using it all the time!'

Yeah, OK I get that. Although I do feel like they did a good job of matching the swearing to the correct character. Justin, Lukas and Mike want to appear cool so they think they'll achieve that by swearing a lot. On top of that, Justin was raised by a super protective and (from what I understand) very religious mother, so him swearing adds another level of humour to his character. Will on the other hand, never swears. Well, not that he appeared much in the early seasons, but I assure you, it still stands
