No, we haven't gotten it back. It got stolen at a river takeout in Oregon. I didn't go because my sister was in California visiting my other sister and I didn't really feel like asking the neighbors to watch all the turders here.

Anyways, at the risk of being honest here, (but I guess that's why I'm in this thread in general, lol (trying anyways--why is it so hard for me :D)) I think the biggest loss was the missed opportunity to react in a way that if I ever lost my wife, Tami (see, I can not be ambiguous, lol) I would really regret my reaction to that whole scenario. ::sigh:: Yeah, so that didn't make me feel too great. But *really* thankful it's humbling and hopefully I don't miss too many opportunities to be a better friend in those situations where you need a friend the most. That's all.

Thanks for asking! I hope your Monday is going well!

Oh, I’m so sorry :hugs

Oh my, I love those! Please do share photos!

It used to be one plant... :idunno  I think they're both getting re-rooted though. If I find a smaller pot, it might like that, but I'll probably just baby it along and hopefully not drown it in the big pot. I think they're supposed to grow relatively fast, that is, if it's not under my care, lol.

Will insurance cover some/most of the loss of your truck?
I hope so! Unfortunately, we have put in a lot of work into it (we even rebuilt the engine which was a terrible decision because it turned out probably costing more than a new motor 🤦‍♀️) so if it covers even a little bit, we will be grateful. We did file a claim and haven't heard back yet, and at least we had some insurance on it, so that's good.

Having just had a claim for a totaled car this past summer, I'll mention this:

The insurance adjuster low-balled us. I told her that the car had almost new (<2000 miles) tires. She said if I had the receipt for the tires, they could take that into consideration. Of course I didn't have the receipt, I mailed it in to get the rebate. But! I called the tire place, and they emailed me a new one, because all that info was still in their computer.

So if you have some proof of the cost of rebuilding the engine, see if they will consider that when they give you a settlement.

Thanks, that's great advice! We are pretty good at saving receipts, and we definitely gave them that one for sure. I'm glad they had the receipt on file for you and you were able to get it re-adjusted! Too bad you had to go through that, too (and of course I hope if anyone was involved, they're okay!)

Thank you, @fluffycrow, @TwoCrows and @Sally PB :hugs. It feels weird getting consoled after being a dbag and compounding an already stressful situation, but hopefully I remember how it made me feel (or importantly, not just me feel). Sorry for oversharing. The whole situation has kind of eaten me up for the last couple weeks, and it wasn't really about the pickup. I guess i regret admitting my reaction to adversity can suck sometimes, but hopefully there's others out there who understand. I definitely strive to make others happy and not the opposite, so I don't really like when I don't get it right. Okay, you can delete my account, now, TwoCrows, haha.

I hope you all have a nice Tuesday!
