LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Thank you! They still seem very healthy, so I’m very happy with my purchase, and will probably purchase again, if I can’t find a particular succulent locally
Now you have me preparing my spring time order on line list for plants I just gotta have! 🤣

I am no better! The wishlist just keeps growing and growing, and the spring list isn’t small either!

Spring and summer are the plant growing seasons, and fall and winter are the wishlist growing seasons :p .

The absolute must haves right now are tephrocactus (?), an agave potatorum Kishhokan (I think that’s how it’s spelled) and more lithops (of course):caf
The wishlist but not hopeful I’ll ever see and/or buy plants are welwitschia, monanthes, and a couple of caudex plants like the Mexican boulder

I like your wish list! 😊 Yes we are both dreaming of spring already! Are any of yours going dormant yet? Some of mine are, the plants that were outside (they experienced some cold overnight temps outside) are already half asleep. (Still a tad damp from 2 weeks ago watering). Others are still guzzling water and are bone dry at 10 days. I watered a bunch yesterday but I'm going to start extending their watering to 20 days next time as the nights are getting colder even inside the house. I will work them down to every 6 to 8 weeks on the small cacti by winter.

I have 2 of those Tephrocacti, the Pinecone cactus. Slow growers but fun to look at, but I am looking forward to a new pups/branches! I want more Gymnocalycium, oh and a Melocactus Bahaiensis, a couple of Astros, a Stenocactus and more Euphorbias. Oh and if course those Stapelia gigantea, those are so cool! I'm sure my wish list will grow even more by spring. :p

None are dormant yet, from what I can see. The astrophytum and echeveria are close to, but not yet there.
Great winter plan. I’m not that prepared, honestly:lol:.

Oh, they’re slow growers😬? Oh boy, maybe I do need an opuntia after all.

Lovely list. The stenocactus and melocactus are very cool!
That’s it! Euphorbia! I’d love some more as well!

Ive got the flanaganii...Medusa Head, and the Obesa, but didn't really start enjoying Euphorbia until I got the Euphorbia ferox, I love this plant! I rescued it about a month ago from a dark corner of a Big Box store where it had been there for 5 months, no water, no light! I kept seeing it and finally felt sorry for it. Anyway, I repotted it, and it burst to life, pupping all over the place! It is one happy plant. But now I just want more Euphorbias! 🤣

Speaking of euphoria, this is a one year update on a little euphorbia I acquired last year. Remember this one? Euphorbia japonica…I believe

It has grown in beautifully, and I’ve greatly enjoyed caring for it.

This plant has definitely got me more interested in euphorbia

I can see why! The ferox is a very very pretty species.

Euphorbia have been a treat to work with lately as well.
They seem to have just enough of that quirkiness along with their beauty to just stand out! They’re also a very diverse genus in general.

Hopefully we’re both able to get more :D

Exactly, they are a bit different and quirky! The ferox has thorns instead of spines, I love that, different from cacti. We both need more Euphorbias!! 😊
