I don't think there is an excuse for it. I do know how hard it is to not repeat doing when it was done to you as a child or in your formative years, for some reason--a lot of strong people probably have, so just generalizing here--but I'm assuming a lot of them that act this way have been treated just the same and for some reason, want to make people feel the same way they felt (could be way off base here, too). I have learned most actions are either an extension of love or a cry for love (not my words, someone smarter than me put it that way) so the people that do that are really struggling themselves, but it is hard to see it sometimes, when peoples' actions can seem just seem completely inconsiderate or mean.

We are all definitely products of our upbringing and our environment, (past lives too if you believe in that sort of thing). Much of our personality, habits and traits are already in place at a very young age and unless we "check" ourselves continuously during our lives as to how we appear to others or how we may be negatively impacting someone's life, we never see there is a problem. Self checking should be a class you have to take in school.

Not sure if I mentioned before but my dad and I will be modifying the flock's yard soon. Mostly expanding so that we can keep them locked up more but also updating some of the hardware cloth and chicken wire.
Before y'all mention the chicken wire, I choose to use it along with the hardware cloth. It's a personal choice.

I'm also hoping to put together a few garden beds for spring.

I need to start remembering to take photos of the meals I've been making. I've been doing Korean dishes for dinner recently.

My friend is going to pay me to 3D Print some things for her snakes' tanks. I just have to wait for the filament she's buying for me to arrive before I can start. I'll post photos once I make them

Made unsalted bone broth and since a few of the bones still had meat on them, I tossed them to the birds to pick clean.
I'll be going out there later today to collect the bones to put in the garbage

I kind of feel really terrible. Chicken Nugget managed to escape before I finished patching up a hole I found in their yard.
I had thought he was still in the coop with everyone else because of the time I fixed it(dusk).
I had been out doing all night Uber Eats deliveries until an hour ago. I just found him on top of the roof of their yard shivering
He's currently inside a cat carrier in my bedroom after I used a hair dryer on low warm.
