Keep the dream alive! My wife and I got land just under 2 years ago. 5 acres. We are slowly working toward self sufficiency. I just partnered with a csa and am going to be raising meat birds and eggs for my community. I'm so grateful.I wish I could have that many. We live in the suburbs and our city restricts us to 10 of any fowl and no roos. I would love to own some land where I could have my own farm and grow my flock more. Maybe some day haha
Im in NW Massachusetts. I have one rooster right now and seven birds too young to tell. Im currently taking guesses on their sex on other threads lol. I love ghe idea of my chicks coming from within, and only have 4 neighbors in a 5 mile radius, so roos were a no brainer. Mine came free with my pullets!Thank you! Kids put a whole different spin on things! For me it is definitely a big driver to become more self sufficient. Where did you guys end up? We are in CO and I was up in the mountains last weekend and they had lots of acreage up for sale and I almost wanted to buy some. Do you have roos too or just hens?
