LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

ugh ok also i just need to rant

so it's father's day, and i was going to a fancy lunch with the rest of my family... which means dressing up. I managed to avoid wearing a dress, but I still had to wear a skirt.

We get to the restaurant, and the entire time it was sooo painful hearing 'young woman' 'madame' 'miss' 'lady' 'girl'

UGH and that triggered my dysphoria. i hate holidays now, they've been ruined for me
:hugs:hugs:hugs

I'm sorry. :hugs

This has really made me think about how I address strangers. It is hard for me to overcome decades of "ma'am" and "sir," because it just pops out. I'm working on it, though, and I really try to be conscious of what I say.

Something happened at work that made me want to laugh. There was this older woman(60s? 70s?) that asked me about my mask. I said it was for Pride Month and after she asked about the colors, I explained it was the Lesbian flag. Another older woman in the line gave me quite the look.
All I could think was 'Lady give that look all you want, it ain't going to do anything'
That lady was very quiet the whole time I was checking her items out and even after she was leaving.

I told this to the manager on duty as I knew that her son was gay and she thought it was funny too.

Doesn't bother me anymore. Main reason my signature is what it is.
