LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Hey everyone, this is my first post on the forums and created an account just so I could move from lurker to participant on this thread. I read from pages 1-30, then skipped ahead to today (page 411)---what did I miss? 😂

I'm an L from the alphabet and despite the rocky start I saw on this thread, I'm pleased to see that the thread has persevered. I live in WI and am in the process of building a home on acreage--which should be ready to move into come March or so...and in the interim I just started with some illicit chickens in my current city home hoping I can keep them on the DL until we move to the new place. We have 2 Calico Princess pullets and two australorp chicks, one of which I am suspicious is a rooster and we're attempting to rehome (but they're only around 3 weeks old at this point). My wife and I have been married for ages and have two kids--although the youngest is 18 and is just starting their senior year of HS.

Welcome! If you're not sure about the sex of your australorp, you can post photos here and we can help you :)

Well since ya asked, here is "Buttless" in all his glory:

I don't have a pic of my other australorp chick handy at the moment, but they are the same age and size, but the other chick has all its tail and wing pinfeathers in. This one has some wing feathers, but no tail feathers at all, plus this guy's comb is pink, where the other australorp is a grey/yellow color.

I know there's no guarantees on gender yet, but we only really wanted 2 chickens to begin with but ended up with 4, which is a little more than we wanted to try and hide.

Unfortunately, he is too young to sex :( and it sounds like your other australorp may not be an australorp. If he has a yellowish comb and yellow feet, he is a jersey giant
