LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I've seen threads get shut down for "political discussion" before... (it was about a goose owner whose entire 100-bird flock (including the babies) was massacred by the government because 2 of them had avian flu.) The whole LGBT thing has turned into a political issue for reasons I don't understand... why should people's bedroom choices be a nationwide battleground--it's practically a verbal civil war now. That's probably one reason why the last thread was shut down. But, people who are straight don't just walk around or post things like "Hey I'm straight--anyone else wanna talk about our political oppression?" because no, it is not just LGBT people who are attacked for this--there are victims and there are attackers on both sides. I'm not saying, in particular, anyone on this thread is an attacker, but I feel it would be better if we all just agree to disagree and try to avoid posting or engaging in any conversations, threads, articles, or discussions that may arouse arguments or division. It just makes some people uncomfy to hear about what people are attracted to or do at night if it doesn't seem "normal" to the. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with people that are "not normal". I have ADHD, which makes me neurally diverse, and technically "not normal" and "normal" these days usually involve fashion trends, phones, and social media, which I find pointless. Although, technically the LGBT thing has been going on long enough that I guess it's considered "normal" now. At least to the greater percentage.

Let me sum up. If there is a risk that a thread will lead to controversy, consider if it's worth posting. There are less public ways to find people who empathize with your struggles and won't lead to potential arguments or backlash.
Aside from that, I wish you the best chicken farming 🙏 :frow

(Anyone who feels the need to discriminate, insult, label, or fight with me, please keep it to yourself. There is never a good reason to start a fight.)

I'm not going to apologise for posting in this thread just because some people find my existence "controversial". This is not political, and this is not sexual. So stop sexualising it.
You might have noticed that this thread isn't about bedrooms, it's about chickens, it's about ducks, it's about pride events, it's about supporting other suppressed people in this minority. It's even been a place to talk about dogs and rabbits and pride badged and fancy dice.
It's a community of people within a community of people. And it's okay for us to be here in this space in the random section on the forum. That's why mods continue to protect our space.

I know you aren't coming from a hateful place or an argumentative place. But I hope you can realise that
If people get triggered by this thread, it's a them problem not an us problem

I'm not calling your existence "controversial", and I know the thread isn't supposed to be political. I just worry about people potentially putting themselves in a position to get attacked, and I don't want anyone to get attacked for this, on either side. I just feel like it causes divisions among some people, and if it is left unsaid, we can all just mutually agree to disagree and these discussions won't come up.
