Does this planting method work on any cactus? Mine has grown out a lot

Since we where on the subject of dog breeding (the notifications gave up again) I will rant a bit!

everyone says I good breeder will do a lot of research and learn a lot before breeding but I am finding it really hard to find information, specially good information! The internet is too full of bad information. The other option is going to shows but I then have to have a dog I can show to learn more about breeding which isn’t a option. Also my dog I am considering breeding is a crossbreed, of course people won’t talk to me if I mention I want to breed a crossbreed never mind why I want to!

OK first of all, BIG misconception (totally not your fault) that you need a show dog to ho to shows. You can visit as a spectator, and as long as you ask respectfully, breeders are VERY happy to talk about their sports and their dogs, and shows are one of the best ways to connect with breeders. Since you're looking for a mixed breed (please do tell why and which) things get a little tricky, so it's important to know why you'd like a mix

The quick answer is, yes. The longer answer is, depending on the species, there are better ways to do it. Photos of your cactus would really help narrow it down (plus I like looking at other people's succulents) but I'd say go for it. But let the cut part completely air dry and callus over

I know I can go I have been before but it mostly ended up with us getting a little bit of information on the breed (we where their asking about breeds then) and other wise just standing around doing nothing. I struggle to talk to people so I am worried that nothing will happen if I go


The dog I am considering breeding is thankfully a very rare mix (partially why I want to breed her) Giant schnauzer cross Labrador. The reason why I want to breed her is she is my assistance dog in training, she is exactly what I wanted personality wise and hopefully will be size wise as well. I found it really hard to find a breeder that had previous dogs be assistance dogs or even let me have a puppy, also most breeds didn’t seem to fit what I needed. I want to keep a puppy for myself and find the rest of them working homes preferably as assistance dogs

She is from a accident litter both dogs where health from good lines and where working dogs, so she isn’t a unknown mix

Is coconut fibre any good for planting? Or is planting soil best for cacti?

I haven't named mine.

Totally unrelated to plants, but my 5 year old male goldfish, Possum died last year. He was young but had issues all his life. I'd considered euthenising if he got worse, but his quality of life remained pretty okay until he passed suddenly

Left me with his widow and 7 children lol. 7 children. All different ages from the hundreds he made and neglected to eat
I miss that fish

It's a succulent, growing medium should be 30% potting soil and 70% sand/ pebbles. This formula makes the pot heavy so don't use a deep pot.

Agreed with the post above. Succulents need a more well draining soil. There are succulent soil mixes on the market, that's what I use, I have great success with them. The only plant I put extra pebbles and sand is my lithops. That particular one *might* be a euphorbia, and I'm not very well versed in those
