LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

There’s religious threads on here too, also a “choice” that may be frowned upon by others yet they still form a community and exist peacefully :)

I think we all just need to live and let live, agree to disagree, and not let it get in the way of making connections.
Don’t know what you mean by choice, but yep as long as no one is acting homophobic, sexist, racist, etc. or putting other people down for their opinions or beliefs/morals. Opinions that don’t hurt anyone shouldn’t get in the way of relationships .

I was referring to the fact that being religious is a choice, and that many people regard being LGBT as a personal conscious decision. But you’re right :) no hate and everybody gets along 😌

Well I have a small rant for you  . Four days ago Kolovos attacked me. I am partly responsible for it, because I waved my hand about 1/4 of a meter from his face because I saw he raised his hackle feathers, stupid me, go figure. Even though I am responsible for my attack, deep down i know he isn't the best candidate for a breeding program, and it's driving me crazy because if I do end up culling him (in the removing of the breeding program sense) I don't have another purebred Tsouloufati rooster to replace him, and I will probably not be able to find another one

Awww. But, if they're a Greek landrace, why can't you get another roo?

Well, I can give you the funny, the true, and the thorough answer. At this point yall know me so you know I'll give you all of them. The funny answer is, we'll because we're in Greece! The true answer is an extention of the funny one, no one really cares about creating a breed, or preserving one, so they mix them with all sorts of birds. The thorough answer, only a few Greeks know about the existence of the breed, so they either don't care and just mix it with whatever or just don't know better. The best I'm probably going to find is a 50% Tsouloufati and that's me being super unrealistic

In that case, keep the roo you have, hope for the best, and choose wisely from the offspring.

Agreed I would keep him and breed him and choose his most docile sons to keep, and maybe breed the sons with the hens for backup and then give him away; but the last part isn’t needed.
