It's common to hatch more males than females, I think. At least this is how it is in my hatches. :D Start thinking about boy names!

Unlike the serama males and Big Red, the Tsouloufati males won't be here for long. I'll select one for breeding till next year, the other will be culled (in both selling and potentially eating). And the one I keep will be given away next summer, right as his children come. So I'll only need one male name. But I DO want more males, because I want to be real picky about the breeder. In case the chicken gods are listening, I still want some good females🙄. But yes, right now I'd like a male with good color, and a really big comb and wattles like Kolovos, he does amazingly in the heat

I will be keeping my fingers crossed you get the perfect rooster in this bunch! :fl This is one of the fun elements of hatching, watching their offspring turn into new creations. I think this plays a part in what makes hatching so addictive.

Yes! I think it'll be super exciting. I love evaluating every bird I have, so I imagine it'll be double the fun if I evaluate a generation I produce

It depends on the hen. Some through more males than others and some throw more females, just like human males do. I used to have a hen that consistently had very heavy female clutches
