As for the watering schedule. I will water once or twice again till spring. That is for outside plants however. If this cutie is grown indoors, I'd keep pretty much the normal schedule, maybe reducing the waterings a little to cope with the loss in sun rays. If this guy is a winter grower, you'd want to water more frequently, and purchase a grow light to help it achieve optimum growth. But you'll have to search the species up, to know if it's a winter or a summer grower. The fallen, shriveled leaves are telling me spring/summer grower, but the flower is throwing me off

I can't wait to see its flower! 😊 :woot I am so egg-cited! Ok so losing lower leaves is normal then, good to know, I was worried! I haven't watered it since mid October. When should I water it next? It gets direct morning sun for a couple hours then just bright light.

And I believe that answers my question! I'd keep your every other month watering schedule, it clearly works!

This is an indoor plant, I couldn't find a bright enough spot inside to get a decent photo. :D I keep him in a south facing window and he seems to do well. He is definitely a spring/summer grower, he's been growing like mad all year! But there is definitely less light this time of year and he seems to be slowing his growth. So I will definitely go easy on the water. I think I will adopt your method and only water a couple times this winter. Those leaves seem to hold a lot of water. Can I assume he is happy and hence he is blooming? I know some plants do "death blooms", last ditch effort to continue themselves? 😱 Hopefully he is content!

Death blooms look quite different, and usually grow from the center of the plant. Keep an eye on how it's growing, I'm not seeing anything too concerning right now. It would like some more light, but this plant is in no way, shape or form suffering. You're a great plant and succulent parent:hugs

Thanks for the vote of confidence, :hugsI have a horrible green thumb, I just can't read plants. :( I wish I had a sun room or something similar, I know succulents like a lot of bright light, my back window is all I've got. However I will definitely be keeping a close eye on it and keep you posted on the flower! I've kept this plant alive for a couple of years, if I keep doing what I'm doing, he should be ok!

That's the spirit! You're doing great! Remember, succulents thrive on neglect (unless it's rainy season and they're outdoors🙄) ! You've got this! On the topic of plants...I want to get some carnivorous plants🤭

I guess succulents are designed to weather out the dry spells? I need to keep this in mind.

Carnivorous plants, like bug eaters and such? 😂 They sound like interesting plants!

They are! So many adaptations, I could just go on, and on, and on about!

Exactly! American pitcher plants are at the top of my list, now
