Almost all carnivorous plants (excluding nepenthes, and maybe some others) grow around bodies of water, where bugs are plentiful. Most keepers keep their carnivorous plants in substrate high (if not 100%) in moss. They also place their pots directly in a saucer that has rain, RO, or distilled water. As for the sun, not sure how you'd go about a solution about that. I think it's going to come down to nepenthes again. I believe they require less light.
