Carole King's Tapestry album (1971) had so many HUGE hits, including Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow*. It's Too Late put her on the map. You've Got A Friend, So Far Away, I Feel The Earth Move, etc. That album won 4 Grammys.

She and Gerry Goffin also wrote a ton of songs that other people/groups made into huge hits.

* Gerry Goffin wrote the lyrics, Carole wrote the music. They collaborated this way a lot, but she did write a lot of lyrics too. She once made the comment that Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow was really, "will you still respect me tomorrow," and the lyrics were written by a man.

Of the albums by her that I bought, I liked Fantasy the best. It got a lot of critical acclaim, but not a lot of popular support. I thought it was musically her best, and lots of the lyrics (which she wrote) very meaningful.

I love rap, hiphop, r&b, all that! Seems like most people who don't like it haven't given it much of a chance beyond what's on the radio  Same with country! Makes me sigh. But, to each their own.
Hip hop is generally a no go for me. A big thing with rap is I just can't understand it. It's just sounds to me, and I already have to deal with that a lot in my day to day. Plus most of what I've heard that I don't like is because it's a bit vulgar for my taste
