I'm so sorry Fluffy
Rest in peace Cruella
Thank you. She was an absolute star, and brought so much joy into my life every time I saw her raising a brood

Coryza CAN cause the face and sinuses to swell but not actual bumps. That's why I'd like to see exactly what you are talking about here. Coryza hits hard and fast, if you haven't added any birds to your flock recently, than what ever this is is most likely self contained. Young birds tend to get ovarian cancers, old birds get a lymph type cancer that leaves growths on the face mouth and in the esophagus.Oh, you don’t know how glad I am to read that! The stress from all the losses has really been getting to me lately. This year I’ve lost more birds to diseases and heart issues than in all my chicken keeping years combined. It’s definitely been hard. I’ll try to get a photo tomorrow, as it’s very mich tight time right now. I hope it’s not cancer, as she’s only slightly over 2 and a half (which is exactly the time the birds here had any sort of contact with birds from any other flock).
Thank you. Losing Cruella yesterday was really tough. I just didn’t think I’d have to think about her passing so soon. All her eggs were broken as well, some of which had embryos inside (and one of which was definitely hers. It was the first time she’d gone broody after the passing ofLady Gaga, and I was so glad to see her going back to her old self. At least I have her daughters and granddaughters to remember her by.
Thank you so much once again, I’m just really hoping for some positive chicken news right now![]()

It's always too soon to lose our birds,Cruella was a star for sure, she was a wonderful momma! It will take time to heal your broken heart,
they sure leave a big empty in our existence when they pass.

Definitely get a pic tomorrow if you can. It's probably something that will fade/heal over time.Yeah, this is definitely a small bump, rather than general swelling.
Thank you. You’re right it will definitely take time. She was amazing, and I still haven’t really processed that she’s gone
In other sad news, it looks like Aart passed away March 20. She didn't post often on this thread, but was a staunch ally.

Thanks for the photos Fluffy!Hope I’m not taking away from the sad news about aart, but I got those pictures. Photo one is the little bump, photo two is the other side. As you can see, it’s just a tiny spot that is swelling. The brow bone is tick, but that’s just a serama thing. Unfortunately, it looks like the little bump has already been pecked (probably by Scary Spice)View attachment 4148048View attachment 4148049
Thanks for the photos Fluffy!Oh goodness, this just looks like she got a peck from another bird. I can see several dried peck marks on her comb on both sides. She isn't too high in the pecking order? It looks like pecking to me, and I don't think it's anything to worry about.
If you have any ointments or veterycin you can put on it, it might heal faster.
