LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Thank you

Unfortunately, I have already reached out to them and asked to speak with the hiring manager 2 times already. The sentiment from other queer folk is that they have had similar experiences, and apparently they are also one of the only employers that refuses to work with an organization that tries to help disabled people get employment.

I’m a trans dude in a wheelchair… probably not their ideal candidate. But they have not seemed to receive other applicants, and I also just need my chicken food at this point!! We have been having to order off of Chewy which is not super reliably on time.
:hugs

You're the best, thank you so much! Captain Jacks Dead Bug and Maggies sound like winners. I will look for them. What kind of bugs were you battling? Too bad you lost some plants because of those $#&*@s.

These guys will thank you, too (sorry for the bad pic.) Of Course I added the jade and the Haworthia before I saw the mealys (it was only on the orange part) but next time I will put them in time-out and be more careful first. I really appreciate it! I hope you're having a great day!
OMG what a cute display of babies! :love (My plants are my babies so I just assume they are everybody's babies. :p) Last year it was Scale and Fungus Gnats, this year it was Mealies and Spider Mites! :barnie Last year I was in denial, 🤣 this year I was on my game! I stare at my plants a LOT 😅 so the Mealies and Spider Mites were wiped out fast. If you catch them before they make too much offspring, they aren't too awful. But still, the dang bugs drive me crazy! :smack Enjoy that bowl of cuties! ❤️

I'm sorry they're so narrow of heart, mind, and vision.
:hugs :hugs :hugs

@Jener8or @fluffycrow

I brought my Lithops inside as temps are already dipping in the upper 40sF or 8-9sC at night. They FINALLY got done splitting and outer leaves have dried up.

There are 5 plants in this pot...

Haha, jk. Just look at those happy little butts (am I allowed to say that?! 😄) They are very endearing. Did/do they all split at the same time or just that cute minty green one?

We probably have similar weather right now. Our low for the month was 40*F so far. It's not unusual to get the first frost before the end of August (it's kind of a reason I stopped working so hard on the garden--we would get everything grown, then it would freeze...) I decided growing animals was better, but I wouldn't mind gardening again, (just need to figure out when to get it all covered I guess.)

Is that a Peperomia growing next to it? It looks very happy, too.

Oh they’re sooooo cute! Yours seem to be getting the appropriate amount of light, as they’re very close to the dirt. Mine seem to need more, as they’re protruding a fair bit.

Drastically different cycles between ours as well. This girl/guy is still flowering

Thanks Jen! No they did not split all at the same time, it was quite staggered from November to April. And at glacial speed I might add. I THINK it was due to being cold inside as once late spring set in and I got them outside, they started growing much faster and got down to business. I really have no idea if they split each year? I know they don't always flower because only 2 of these flowered last year. I am new with these, @fluffycrow knows way more about these plants than I do. 😊

Yes it is a Ruby Cascade Pepperomia! It was outside too, it's about 2 feet long! She didn't do well with standard light coming in through the windows, not enough light, so I had her outside and she got plenty and loved it! So I tried to squeeze her in there under the grow lights. I think she will do ok, IF she doesn't grow any longer! :p

OMG this is SO beautiful!! :love I just love yellow flowers!! ❤️ My crew did quite well outside this year in sun and partial shade. They are back inside under the lights so hopefully they flower just as pretty as yours! 🥰

From what I can tell, no. They need to have gathered enough nutrients from the soil, from the sun, and have been watered enough to survive the transition. It’s a very fine balance between too much and too little.

Hopefully much prettier! While I deeply thank you, I think this particular flower came out all scrawny, making it look less than impressive. Hopefully yours will flower soon, should be around mid winter when they do
