Lice and mites - the struggle is real!

Check the ornamental plant section of nurseries. Most dusting powders for roses will contain permethrin or sevin (carbaryl).

That's a good idea. I will - because the powders are banned for chickens, here in Canada (or so I've been told when I was searching for it). Maybe it is still available in a nursery, like you've suggested. The flock got completely doused, as above, and I sprayed the heck out of every nook and cranny. And I'll repeat once the week is up. I also put a wormer/parasite killer in their water on the same day and will repeat coming up here after Christmas. I went to get the Ivermectin injectable (for skin dosing on my goats) but it was pulled off the shelf and is only available at the vet...which is new. Is the saline version you're mentioning the same thing?

I've had this discussion before and have been told I'm wrong and quite frankly I dont understand the logic. Saline is a .9% NaCl solution of sterile water. If a drug is soluble or held in a solution that is 99.1% water I don't understand why it would not remain soluble with the addition of plain old water.

I think the goat wash is just less concentrated mg/ml in a higher volume so if some doesnt go the overall dosage for that animal is not adversely effected.

Ive never had a problem with it. Just used a large bore needle and the biggest syringe i could find to draw it out of the vial.
