Lice? human shampoo??? *help please!*

If you are worried about the chemicals, you can use Mayonaise. Cover her really well in Mayo and let it sit for a couple of hours. It will smoother the lice and the knits. A shower cap will work well to keep her from getting it EVERYWHERE!! It may not be any easier to get off of her than the shampoo, but you won't have to worry about her eating it. Wash out the mayo with Dawn. After that you can wash her feathers & skin with a vinegar rinse (about 10-15% vinegar) That will loosen the "glue" that holds the knits to the feathers/hair so that it will comb out easier. I would probably repeat in 7 days just to make sure that I got all the little critters.

Hope this helps!! and Good Luck!

Yes I think she is ok, it has been hours now and she is showing no il symptoms.

I might try that mayo for her second lice treatment

Hi,
Will the nitt comb remove them without pulling the feathers out?
We show and its a hard lesson learned that they can get things from shows too.
I didn't want to cut them off because I don't think they will be fully regrown in 5 weeks,
Any suggestions?
Thx

I am in Canada, and even though on the web these stores advertise having sevin, they don't in Canada apparently

I haven't tried Walmart yet though, I will give that a shot.

If not though, I don't want to wait for it to ship, I am terrified of her dying of anemia..she doesn't look to good.

I poured cattle ivermectin on her 2 days ago....when is it safe to reapply?

What can I feed her to make her feel better?

Thanks,

Christina
I'm in Canada also. No way to get Sevin or permethrin. Not even sporasin. Would love to know if one could carefully use lice shampoo.
