Lice or mites?

Does it look like this chicken has lice or mites? I've had 2 chickens die of unknown causes, 3 weeks apart, and I am trying to find any stressors. Any suggestions?

Sorry for your 2 losses.

You will need to inspect the skin under the feathers (especially near the vent). It's almost impossible to tell if a chicken has lice/mites just by looking at it.

Have you inspected their housing for infestation?

Are there other symptoms of illness? How do their poops look? What do they eat? What is their housing like and how many chickens are housed there? How old?
