New to this....how do you keep the chickens/coop from getting lice or mites? Also I have house dogs, can they get this from chickens. I have my coop set pretty close to the house, so I can heat when needed and watch them for possible predators.

Did you read the links? The lice eggs are white at the base of the feathers--the mite eggs are grayish and it looks dirty. The red mite will only come out at night, and hides in the cracks of the walls during the day. Checking at night with a flashlight is the way to find those.

The eggs will be killed if you dust again in 10 days. Since you bathed her, you will need to dust her again today when she is dry. Check her again in 20 days to make sure there are no more eggs.
