Licensce for mallrds and wild turkeys in Mo.?

Mallards are usually no problem unless you are caught taking them from the wild. Possession of wild turkeys is a big nono without the proper permits. If you apply for a permit for wild turkeys make sure you can document the licensed seller you got them from unless you are willing to take a chance on a conservation officer pulling up to investigate where your wild birds or eggs came from.

Thanks. I looked at the link someone else gave me and could find nothing on the ducks. I have the receipt for the mallards from Mt. Healthy Hatchery. Is that enough to keep me out of trouble? I think I will wait on the turkeys. I do not like to deal with the government.
Thanks.

You need a Federal Permit for waterfowl to possess wild mallards legally and they are supposed to be pinioned or toe clipped but they do not press the issue on mallards because there are so many domesticated mallards. Now if they were to catch you leaving a nesting area with eggs or ducklings then you would have an issue to deal with. You have to go through U.S Fish & Wildlife for federal permits for waterfowl. Turkeys fall under state regulations and you need a state wild game breeders permit and you have to be able to prove your birds or eggs did not come from the wild. If you can't they will nail you.
