Liege Fighter Flock Compatibility

Phase 2 relocate Sneeches near flock completed!

I thought about keeping her in the porch, she's so gangly, but as she has no intention of being picked up by me, I figured she has enough spirit for it. I caught her and once I put her in the pen where her older cousins were, it was a sigh of relief. She started eating and drinking, kicking around.

Called it a day (after I had to put her up on the top roosting bar since she thought she could jump through hardware cloth and roost on the 2x4 actually holding it up...

I am even happier to report the Liege are no longer challenging my Sumatra roo and now let him take charge and even roost together.

Sneeches has also figured out how to roost high as well, and she's tall! If she ever fills in her bullies better look out!

So an update here. Both Liege can now reach the overhead truss in my garage with Little Chief, along with my Maran and the younger Buckeyes.

Sneeches is growing. I know it's going to be rough for her since she's going to face the entire flock one of these days so I decided to try. Let her out and lo' an behold she engaged Sky my Maran, and was not phased! Though that was short lived because Little Chief is now in charge and he was on her. I had chase him off her.

Her big sister Beastie, was also looking ready to pounce on her so I figured that's enough for today.

Update: Today I was out cleaning around the coop by Sneetches's pen and I heard this loud crow all of a sudden. I looked and Sneetches was sitting there on the roost, I then looked around for Little Chief and said you got to be kidding me... I turned around and another loud crow from Sneetches! No wonder she's not laid eggs... but she doesn't exactly have a comb either so not sure what's going on.

But the crow was loud and clear, and not to be confused with my Sumatra. So I guess I have two Roos!

I've had hens crow. It generally sounds like a weird scream. Did you need another rooster?
It's not a scream, definitely a crow. At least I haven't heard any of my hens make similar noises and I have thought at differnet times they were a bit noisey themselves, but they never crowed.

I actually was just planning to look into getting a Buckeye cockrell 😂 so this would be a definite change of plans! Luckily I read both Liege and Sumatras are not agressive to other breeds once their order is established.

Guess I'm getting more hens now!
