Persepolis relaxed her grip on her gun when he lowered his slingshot. She shrugged, "If you think they're gonna blow up, that's fine by me."
When he pretended to be insulted, Persepolis played back by pretending to be utterly sorry. She stammered in an exaggerated way, "I- I'm so s-sorry. I didn't mean to- to offend you." She widened her eyes, saying in a playful tone, "You are not stupid. You are the wisest man alive." A goofy smile spread across her lips.

Alec's face turned blank when she said he was wise. "You know, that's actually really insulting. Now quit stammering, it doesn't suit you."

Persepolis didn't much care for his attitude. She said with irritation, "I wouldn't consider being called wise an insult." She added, annoyed, "What does suit me? Being shot with that slingshot of yours?" Persepolis was getting bored with this man very quickly. If he wasn't going to make it clear that he actually wanted the guns, she was going to leave. She didn't have time to waste on nasty humans who like running their mouths begging to be killed.

Admittedly, Luna was confused. They were joking with each other. Wasn’t this guy supposed to be a danger. And why didn’t he want his guns back? Luna glanced around, as if someone were there to ambush them, and he was buying time for them.

Persepolis lifted off, pocketing the gun. She flew back to the cabin with Luna. When they got back, she scowled remarking, "That boy makes me mad. I guess I'll have to take this up with Xylo now since we didn't return it."

Persepolis spat at him, clearly very worked up, "I was trying to return it to you! Being a jerk didn't help your case!" She joined Luna. She was livid.

Those words stung Luna somewhat. Even though they were only partially true. He had been really aggravating, but he hadn’t gotten his gun back. She decided she would return a little later when no one was around, letting Persepolis and him fight verbally.
