Xylo nodded, responding simply “She told me a lot.” His eyes fell upon the moon, staring back at him metaphorically, a light in the darkness. Surely, there was a light out of his darkness.
Lucas nodded. "That`s odd. Really odd." He paused, then added, with a trace of amusement. "She must like you. Or her version of like." He followed his gaze to the moon.
Xylo shook his head in denial, even though deep within he liked her as well. He countered “That can’t be true. I’m just a broken man. She’s probably looking for people who aren’t if anything.”
Lucas looked at him. "Your wrong there. She`s looking for people who are like her."
Xylo joked half-heartedly “Maybe its my looks she’s interested in.” While he was regarded as handsome, he knew River wasn’t like that. With a sigh, he admitted “No, River’s not like that.”
"Well, I seriously doubt it`s your looks." Lucas said. "Probably your personality, will to help others. She`s never met anyone like you. You should really talk to her, I mean, I know you talked." He paused, and grinned. "But don`t ask about her past too much, or I might have to deal with these Banished-butts trying to kill my sister for her murdering somebody."
Xylo chuckled, making the conversation lighthearted by accusing playfully “You callin me ugly?” before admitting “Okay, I’ll talk to her. But you gotta let me know who you fancy here, you know, so it’s even.” Xylo grinned, letting him now he was playing and that if those were feelings he wanted to be private they could stay that way.
Lucas grinned. "Maybe." He paused, his grin staying. "Oh, who I fancy? Okay. Hmm... Let`s see... Oh, her name is Nobody."
Xylo chuckled, responding back wittily “We should have a contest. Most girls in a day.” He walked away smiling, clearly indicating he was joking.
Lucas laughed. "Ha, challenge accepted." He paused. "Eh, not." He added quietly.
