Lies Spread Quickly RP

Tess walked up to the paddock, and laughed when the two cows ambled towards her. The calf was adorable, she decided, with his floppy ears, knobby knees, and huge eyes.
Curious, the calf pressed himself against the fence, allowing Tess to pet him to her heart's delight. She grinned when she saw him lick his nose with a purple tongue. Slowly, he turned his eyes towards hers, and pressed his nose against her hand through the fence. "He's cute," Tess giggled.
Bessie watched all this from a distance, amused but wary.
Tess finally stepped away from the calf, and walked back up to Greymane. "Do we have more work to do?"

"Well, let's get the milk strained and put away for later so it can separate, an while that's sittin', it's time to plant. Th' mule helped me plow out the field, an now it's time to plant! I got potatoes, onions, garlic, beans, carrots, squash, an wheat to get in over th' next few days. We can start now, an get back when the sun peaks for lunch, and then see where we are. I sure am appreciative of the help," admitted Greymane.

Taylor shrugged at his thanks. She was getting free meals, after all.
"Where do we start?" she asked.

"Let's head inside. Straining won't take more than two minutes."
Greymane headed into the house. He had some old glass Mason jars and draped some cheesecloth over the openings, then poured the milk through the cheesecloth into the jars. When done, he set the milk in a cool place to separate.
" You want a glass while it's still warm, or you wanna wait till later?"

"Now, please," Tess said, eying the milk.

Grinning, Greymane brought down a steel cup for her from the cupboard. He poured a warm glass of frothy fresh milk from one of the freshly strained jars. "You did a great job milking for the first time. Enjoy!" He congratulated as he handed her the cup.

Tess looked at the frothy liquid in front of her. It had been a long time since she'd had milk. Slowly, she tilted the cup, closing her eyes in delight as the warm, creamy liquid dripped into her mouth. Tess swallowed slowly, savouring the flavor, and then quickly downed the rest of the milk, wiping her mouth with a sleeve.

Since Tess was enjoying a cup, Greymane had some too. The milk was refreshing and warm, creamy and delicious. "Mmmmmm," he sighed. He rinsed out his cup before setting it beside the dishwashing basin.
"Let's get out to the field before it gets too warm," said Greymane. "I'll get the sets and the seeds, an we'll head on out." He grabbed the burlap sack next to the door.

Tess finished the milk, and mimicked Greymane. She awkwardly rinsed out her cup, and put it right beside his - almost knocking it over.
She hurried to catch up to the old man, with the burlap bag slung over a shoulder, and followed him outside.

Greymane pointed a little downhill from the cabin. He chatted while walking. "There it is, running along the creek, it's my field. It got plowed recently, so all we have to do is plant. We should get the sets done first. There's a trick we can use for the potatoes, garlic, and onion sets. It's something most people can't do." Greymane gave a sly grin. " I use my wolf to plant the big stuff easily. Paws dig way faster than clunky hands and trowels. I'll set my bag at the edge of the field here, an I'll head into those bushes for some privacy. Don't wanna mess up my clothes, ya know, haha!" Once they reached the edge, he set the bag down, then poured out the potatoes to make them easier to grab with his jaws later, doing the same with the onions and garlic. "You'll wanna watch when grabbing the garlic and onion sets, if you nick them with a tooth, it can leave a strong taste in the mouth! Hehe."

Tess grinned at Greymane hesitantly. No one had every really asked her to Change before. The few people she'd told about her Ulven blood had quickly left her. So she had stopped telling people.
Then she remembered how fast she had been to stalk that chicken. She would have to be careful, she knew. She didn't want to slaughter the cow, or the calf, or any of the animals on the farm. She had a feeling that Greymane was testing her.
She walked into the tangly woods, stripped out of her clothes, and Changed, with only a tremor of discomfort.

Looking at the farm through a wolf's eyes left Tess feeling wild. Reckless. Food was everywhere. The lazy cows, slow chickens, and the smell of more to come? Not to mention the strong scent of human that lingered on the wind.
Tess shook her head. She wasn't even hungry - and why would she eat Greymane? The thought troubled and repulsed her.
But still, the bounty of meat here was much more than she had found on her meager raids in the town's woods. She had to stay out of the way of hunters, which was hard in itself, but there was no prey at all there. The hunters had hunted most of the meat.
Tess snarled in disgust, determined not to let her deep-set hunger mess this up for her. She meekly walked to the spot where Greymane had left the burlap bag, the sights and smells a bit overwhelming.
