When would it be safe to introduce birds to a coop if you have bird flu in the area? I lost some birds, though the vet assumed New Duck Disease from 3 ducklings I brought home. For now, I'm keeping everyone locked up to be safe, but would eventually like to add more to the flock.

Why didn't the agencies make you euthanize everybody? Didn't you and/or the vet report it?
Sorry: the original post was misleading. It wasn't confirmed bird flu so the vet didn't report it. Given the duck's symptoms, he treated them for Infectious Serositis. To be certain, I'm going to lock everyone up for the time recommended by the FDA. Eventually, I'd like to add to my flock (only 2 of my once broody chickens are laying anymore, so I'll eventually need to hatch some of my own).
