I'm wondering what the Guineas Book of Records world lack of sleep and still functioning time holder is? I may be running a close 2nd!
Gracie and her puppies are back home...again!
She is my little shadow, as is Pepper, but she wants no other place besides being right on my heels, or in my lap. Peppy will run, jump, chase, but will come circle a spot on my lap after a short excercise. I dearly love those little darlings.
My family is well. So thankful. It was an eventful week! I had 'hatching' from eggs that were going to be tossed out! Yes, day 24...they amazed me! My temps were a little low...but not that much! Never seen anything like it! Who knew?
I have in my possession a picture, that could be considered 'blackmail worthy!'....
At our 'church' picnic, Hotrod Harry, the man in the wheelchair (by the way we changed his name to Rolling Romeo) clasped Wild Wanda in a hug that was, uh, shocking! Wanda....pretended to be just 'shocked', while Romeo pretended his arms weren't working well! Whatever! We have teased them, his mother...you can see her, she's standing right behind them...reaches out and slaps his hand! Prankster Frank got to laughing so hard, his lawnchair tumped over!
Let's just say, we haven't heard the end of that!
Oh, and Lulu Leadfoot fell out of the swings backwards...she was not hurt...I was swinging next to her, and staggered over to offer my assistance...my husband who had the camera was snapping away!...needless to say the pictures show me bent over laughing, I was not much help.
She was not injured, beyond her pride.
I'm certain we put on quite a show for all the other campers...
Sunday was still a carry-over from the picnic...everyone was in high spirits...now, I have debated about telling this part or not. And since your all such dear friends, and bad things, embarrasing things have happened to all of you, I feel like I can share, and you won't tell ANYONE, right?
I had on a skirt with an elastic waist, this skirt has issues...I think the dryer took out some of the stretch....(wish I could say I had lost that much weight!)
Here is how is all started. I was rushing around that morning trying to find my son's shoes, he had hidden them because he didn't want to wear "preacher pants"...he likes his jeans. Well, he decided that hiding the dress shoes would prevent the dreaded dress clothes...wrong! I found them, dressed him, gave him a stern lecture, and sent him to church with his daddy.
In the meantime, I had gotten my clothes on, gathered all the sunday school books, placed the bows in my daughters hair, and rushed over to church...with only minutes to spare!
Church was just lovely, sweet people, sweet attitudes, the singing was heavenly, and then...I went up to lead the 'booster band'. (This is the small childrens choir) at the close of the choir we sing a song where the children kneel, as I knelt there, I was blissfully unaware that my skirt, during an active song, had slipped...I did notice my husband giving me a 'look'. When we knelt, I was out of his sight, oh well, I'll just tell you. When I stood back up, my sons foot was on the hem of my skirt, and it didn't rise with me!
That's it. Flat out. Further more, I didn't notice it...instantly. No, I waited till I felt the skirt pull around my knees! Now, I'm small, stand 5'2', but the altar was not big enough to hide that! So, I quickly reached down, pulled the ole skirt up, an marched to my seat, with my head held high, amidst the laughter, he haws, giggles, and snort...plopped myself on my pew #2, and didn't budge for the rest of the service. I can say, I was wearing a fairly new slip. Thank God.
Needless to say, the skirt is laying on top of my sewing machine...
How goofy I felt.
I was worried about my brother and his demolition derby...it was Friday night., no I did not go...but I heard about it. He did not win, and got his car knocked out fairly soon in the race, while this pleased me, he was awful disappointed.
Further more on Monday, he witnessed a sad event in his own driveway. A young man, on his way home from work, hit a tree in the neighbors driveway, it threw him through the trees, a fence and into his Driveway. Where he died. The young man was riding a motorcycle. His brothers stopped, saw who it was, and went down the road to get his wife, she was on the side of the road, the police were keeping her away from him...part of his skull was gone, his whole faced crushed, and nothing my brothers could do saved the young man....the EMT's worked and worked,
His wife was crying saying, "I told him not to buy it, that we would just make do with the car,"...His work was almost 40 minutes away one way, and the gas prices are being felt hard, around Arkansas.
We were worried about my youngest brother, he has flashbacks from his tour of duty....but he has been ok.
This week-end is our "Outdoor Rally", where our section gets together and celebrates the end of school, and their hardwork with the fundraising they have been doing to go to Youth Camp...can you believe it's almost that time?
My husband is the Sectional Youth Leader, so I've got to go buy the hotdogs, and as the leader for our church, we've got to work on the booths. Each church is supposed to have a game booth, and a craft booth. We are doing face painting, and then ball toss in buckets of water. Plus, there is always the big volleyball game...I love to play volleyball. I, however, cannot spike, and when I'm on the front roll, those big boys always spike it my way!
I think, they think, I'm the weak link!
Well, my children are beginning to knaw on the table...I better get off here and fix them soe lunch.
Ya'll come!
