There is a realitvley new pill on the market I think you can smoke with it for the first week of two then no smoking after that had a friend who went on it last year and a year later she is still smoke free and she has had very few urges to smoke and she smoked for something like 40 years.....
I'm kind of afraid of the side effects of that stuff. Chantix it's called and it is known for some CRAZY side effects. I know people who have used it and it worked and others that felt like they were losing their mind. Mine is already 50% gone, so....There is a realitvley new pill on the market I think you can smoke with it for the first week of two then no smoking after that had a friend who went on it last year and a year later she is still smoke free and she has had very few urges to smoke and she smoked for something like 40 years.....
LOL. Keep up the good work, Deb. I quit 3 and 1/2 years ago. It was the hardest "quit" I had ever done. I used a site called QuitNet and that really helped. It's good to have people to talk you through things. Plus, they keep track of my quit date down to the minute. It's fun to show that off on my Face Book, lol. Cinnamon gum and Altoids were a life saver for me. The cinnamon gives you the same taste kick that the first cigarette of the day does. It's amazing. Chewing on drinking straws and keeping my hands busy helped a lot too. You have to change all of your habits. I couldn't figure out why I was pacing the room when I talked on the phone, then I realized that that was when I always smoked.I changed the area that I talked on the phone and started texting a lot.
Quiting cigarettes is hard! Did you know that nicotine is more addictive than heroin? I think that getting mad at Big Tobacco is what REALLY made me want to quit. Those guys are no better than drug dealers. They put crap in cigarettes that get us addicted, and do everything they can to keep us addicted. Who wants to support a drug dealer?
Good luck to you two.I know you can do it!
Tooth rot is the least of my worries right now. Sugarless candy is a laxative, trust me on that one, and it doesn't taste nearly as good.
