Life With The Flock: Lacy Duckwing's Flock Thread

My Grandma has Icelandics! They come in so many different colors. Some of them even have little crests! They're cool chickens. :D
Cool! I'm hoping to get some this year, but I don't if it'll happen yet. I tried real hard to get some last year, but obviously, that didn't happen.

Update:

Today, while everyone was free ranging, I brought Rocky out. I put her far from the coop, in a nice spot that the snow has melted away from. One of the first things she wanted to do was take a dust bath... and peck Shiloh. (Obviously, Rocky has been looking forward to that. Shiloh was always jumping up on Rocky's cage annoying her, so I guess she had it coming.)

Jewels came around and joined Rocky in the dust bathing. All went well until Nightfall showed up. Nightfall instantly started bothering Rocky and dancing around her. To help out Rocky, and give her peace, I chased Nightfall off. Sadly for Rocky, he was quick to return. So I went after him again, and caught him. Hoping to keep Nightfall away for a long time, I took a long walk with him through the snow and abandoned him on a 2x4 perch. He followed me back in no time! I had stopped to say something to one of my brothers, and I looked up, and there was Nightfall: Walking down an icy trail looking for me because he knew I was heading back to Rocky. Thankfully, when he got back to Rocky, he didn't bother her as I stayed close to her.

Then Aundria became a little bit of trouble. Rocky had some frostbitten fingers that was close to coming off, and Aundria removed them all except for one. I ended up chasing her away as well and she didn't return.

On Rocky, her feathers are mostly all grown back, but just need to grow out a little. This will be her first time back with the flock for awhile and this is her first night back.

I lost Princess and Shiloh earlier. (And of course, neither Princess or Shiloh is good at coming when called.) Me and a couple of my siblings searched for about 10 minutes for them without a trace. Finally, my brother found the two lost hens. They were both talking a dust bath under a shed out of sight. The other chickens ended up joining the two under the shed as well.

I found some black feathers in my yard, all in one spot, so something has been killed. Could it just be a wild bird? Such as a robin? There were 3 or so small feathers that were the color of a golden comet’s feathers.
Could of been one. It could of been killed by a cat. Poor bird. :(

I'm slightly thinking a hen might be considering broodiness.... That is, Beth. Today I've found her in the nesting box at strange times. When I went to shut everyone in, Beth was in the nesting box with all of today's eggs.... I put her on a perch to discourage broodiness.

If Beth is considering broodiness, she's just starting. She did lay today, so obviously, she's just beginning. There is, another thought: Rocky has just been moved into the flock. Unlike other RSLs, Rocky and Beth doesn't flock together, even though Beth would like to. Rocky is jealous of Beth, and as a result, she's mean to Beth. So, I am slightly questioning if Beth in the nesting box tonight is her hiding from Rocky.
