I think these are Light brahma bantam by my research but I can not figure out what gender they are. They look exactly the same and are 3 months old. One is dominant already but they seem to get along regardless.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated thanks!

I'm totally new to chickens and trying to figure out if my buff brahma is a male or female. Mine is 9 weeks old and it does not have any of the red on it. So if I compare mine to yours, I would say mine is pullet and ours is a roo.

They both get along and hang out together... think they can stay that way even if roosters?

When we first bought our 4 Buffys (not light colored), we were hoping for 4 hens or 3 hens 1 roo but we were surprised with two roos and two pullets. Joy!

When the roos became 'interested' in the hens, we realized having two rooster terrorizing our hens was not good.

So, we had to give one of the roos up.

I agree with other posters that they're roosters but you can never be sure with Buff Brahmas as they cannot be sexed as chicks.

One of my roosters was a very late bloomer and we thought he was a hen for a while! Haha. And one of the hens we thought was a rooster and she was a hen! So, the moral of the story, they could be roos or pullets and you won't know for sure until they're more grown~

Also, the roosters will establish a 'pecking order' and fight a bit. My roosters still fought after establishing their order. If you're planning to have hens and two roosters, you should have AT LEAST 12 hens for the two roos together. The minimum ratio should be 1 rooster to 6 hens.

Good luck!
