LIGHT BRAHMA CHICK question

My light Brahmas are actually my daughters. She loves them and says they have "fuzzy" feet. That is the whole reason we got them, but I am so glad we did. They are gorgeous!

got chick....got camera....batteries went dead. The chick has wing feathers...they extend pass it's butt. It just has no butt feathers. I'll try for pics tomorrow night.

I think one of my chickens is a light brahma (https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=334158), she is much slower to feather out than the rest of my chickens. The pics below are from 29 days old, this little girl is gonna keep me from putting my 9 peeps out in their new coop as soon as I'd like to.

If you want to compare those pics to the rest of my chickens at 29 days old, see here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bwknight/sets/72157624094152918/

Yep....that's what mine looks like, only the wing feathers are a little longer and it is 2 months old. Mine looks like an ostrich.

I ordered a pullet.....sigh....paid extra too.

well please do still post pics when you can get your camera back up and running, I'd like to see your little peep for comparison

if she is a he, i guess I'll have to find a name other than Princess Leia

Interesting...my Light Brahma girls were solid yellow as hatchlings. First feathers were on the wings and were mostly white with just a few black. To be honest, I don't remember them looking anything like the chick in those photos. Perhaps because mine are all pullets? These are my girls at 4 weeks:

Is there that much breed variation in the Light Brahmas?

I don't have brahmas but my columbian wyandotte is the same way. This pic is at 4 1/2 weeks. Now at almost 6 weeks, he/she is just starting to grow feathers on the back of the neck but is stil mostly chick fuzz.... while all the others are pretty much feathered in.

My little gal looked just like yours; she was so yellow that my daughter named her "Blondie." I'd post pictures, but they're on my other computer.

About her size: she kinda lagged behind the others in growth at first, but now, at almost 8 weeks, she and my Australorp are starting to look much bigger than our RIR and SLW. She's a major sweetie.
